Father Russ is a relatively new comer to the Catholic Church. Raised a Southern Baptist in Texas, at 24 he experienced high church liturgical worship at an Episcopal Church near the university he graduated from and converted. Almost immediately he became aware of a call to ordained ministry that had been present since he was seven. In 1996 He went to Wisconsin to attend seminary at Nashotah House, Episcopal Seminary near Oconomowoc. While there he met his soon to be wife, Diane Chvojicek of Portage, WI. After finishing seminary in 1999 he moved back to Texas to begin ministry as an Episcopal priest and he and Diane were married in 2001.

In 2002 Fr. Russ was called to be the head priest at St. James in West Bend. In 2006 he and Diane left the Episcopal church to convert to Roman Catholicism. After four and a half years of study and formation Fr. Russ was assigned to two rural parishes in southern Kenosha County. After twelve years and being graced with a third and fourth parish he finished his ministry and was assigned to these current parishes.

Diane and Fr. Russ are excited to be back living in Washington County. They will reside in West Bend with their two dogs and two cats. Fr. Russ and Diane love being Catholic and enjoy traveling to different shrines and churches for vacations.
